Ivor has been involved with irrigated agriculture for 30 years, including 15 years of hands-on large scale farming in Zimbabwe. He grew a variety of both extensive and intensive crops, and was a director of Zimbabwe’s largest banana producing organisation. Since migrating to Australia in 2005 he has run both the Carnarvon Growers Association (CGA) and the Gascoyne Water Co-operative.
He is now based in Perth, having joined AFS Agriculture as a consultant in early 2012. Ivor co-founded SWAN Systems in 2016, and he now works full time on this business, driving the development of the SWAN Systems decision support system for irrigated enterprises.
Earlier this year Ivor spent three months at the Austrade Landing Pad in Tel Aviv, establishing valuable business contacts and learning what he could from Israel’s vibrant entrepreneurial culture.
