A University of Western Australia medical graduate with an executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, Marcus is an experienced GP, healthcare executive and
company director with over 20 years of clinical and commercial experience. His diverse career spans the health, technology, investment and philanthropic sectors.
As the Founder, CEO and Medical Director of HealthEngine, Australia’s largest online healthcare marketplace, Marcus has grown HealthEngine from 2 web developers out of his lounge room to over 150 staff in 4 offices nationally since 2010 and has personally raised nearly $50 million in private funding. His vision for HealthEngine is to be a globally leading platform that revolutionises the access and experience of healthcare for patients and providers.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Australian Institute of Management and serves on various health and community bodies including as a director for the WA Primary Health Alliance, a board and council member of the Australian Medical Association (WA), and is an Adjunct Associate Professor in Health Leadership & Management at Curtin University. He is a co founder of the Meridian Global Foundation since 2005 to inspire more grassroots philanthropy and a trustee of Telethon.
